Settings

Settings covers the host itself rather than the machines running on it.

Web account

Change the administrator username or password. This is the account you sign in to the console with, and it is stored on the host.

Virtainer web interface

The console is served on the default HTTP port, so its address needs no port number. You can move it to another port here.

Changing the port restarts Virtainer Lite

Virtainer Lite restarts to pick up the new port, so the console will be briefly unavailable and you will need to reconnect on the new port. The setting is stored on the host, and an OS update will not put it back to the default.

SSH access

Turn SSH access to the host on or off. With it off, reach the host through the console or its serial console.

This controls access to the host, not to the machines running on it. Those have their own SSH, configured through cloud-init.

VM autostart

Controls what happens to machines after the host reboots.

On (default)	Machines that were running are started again automatically
Off	Machines that were running come back stopped, ready for you to start

This restores the last running state; it is not a hand-maintained boot order. Machines you stopped yourself are never started for you either way. See After a host reboot.

Host power

Reboot or shut down the host from the console. Machines are stopped as part of it, and if VM autostart is on, the running ones come back after the reboot.

Error reporting

Controls whether diagnostic reports may be sent when something fails. It is a host setting like the others, and you decide.

Host identity

Hostname and timezone are set during first-run setup and can be changed afterwards.
